Since my last post right before Christmas, I have been working on constructing New Beau City. I put in the signals and tunnel portals for the tracks going beneath the city, and I have been working on a number of HO buildings that will be placed behind the O gauge buildings to create some "forced perspective." I will note that progress has been slow, in part I suppose, because although I am in pretty good health for an "old fella" my age, I made the decision back in February to stop smoking, and this has been very difficult. Eventually, I had to ask for some assistance, and with the help of my physician I am now well on my way, I believe, to being a former smoker. During the process though I found my temperament impacted. Not only did my work on the railroad suffer, I wasn't always the greatest guy to be around. But now with the passing of each day not smoking, the issue gets easier, and I am getting back to being my old self. Which means, of course, I am back to work on the MARS!
Here is a shot I took awhile back showing the tunnel portals and some of the signalling I installed.
Until next time, Happy Model Railroading! Bo
