It was nice to spend the day out and about with my wife and nice that we could spend some time together railfanning! The photo at left shows a quartet of UP locomotives making their way through Atchison with a west bound mixed freight.
Here are several more photos I was able to take yesterday:
Progress on the MARS
The last things to be done before I move on are to finish up the kit that will be Cronin's Oil and Fuel and to paint and weather an MTH Water Tower that sits along the mainline. Then it will time to move on to the other side of the railroad where things will be dramatically different. The other side of the railroad will not be about landscaping, but rather "cityscaping" I know there is no such word, however, cityscaping aptly describes the work that will need to be done. New Beau City, a take off of New York City, is the home of the Grand Central Terminal that I purchased from Lionel several years ago. I am excited about this upcoming project. and the challenges it will present.
Here are several relatively recent photos taken on the peninsula. I don't want to take an overall picture until I have the final pieces, the water tower and Cronin's, in place.
