One of the things I've learned is that along with knowing your strengths is knowing your limits. I wanted a background to go behind Maryville, and I wanted something unique. Unfortunately, I am not an artist. But it just so happened that a friend of my wife did know of a woman who was a well known mural artist here in Saint Joseph. I invited her to our home to show her my railroad and to discuss the project at hand. Sure enough she was interested in taking on the project. Below are several photographs showing the town of Maryville temporarily set in place, then with the track and buildings removed (the blank slate), and then Sherry at work doing what she loves to do, paint!
Well, this is just the shot in the arm that both Maryville and I needed to get busy.
Sherry left this afternoon saying "give it a few days, mull over the work and give me a call and if there is anything more you would like done I'll come back to work on it some more". Man, I am pleased, but I will do what she asked, and we'll see if there is any more to be done. But, my first impression is, what an improvement!
